Our development strategy begins with a thorough analysis of the current electricity landscape in each country within our operational territory to identify high-potential solar opportunities. We address two primary types of solar project markets:
1st Type: Countries with existing renewable energy regulations
In these markets, our development team performs a detailed review of the national framework and regulatory landscape to initiate the solar project development process in compliance with local guidelines.
2nd Type: Countries without a defined renewable energy regulation
GPower Solar does not wait for regulation to catch up. Instead, we proactively identify investment opportunities and build strategic pipelines by designing comprehensive solar project concepts including regulatory, technical, and investment frameworks which are submitted to the relevant government authorities. By leveraging our strong local partnerships and connections, we foster close collaboration with key governmental bodies. This creative, forward-looking approach reduces both the time and cost of development, positioning GPower Solar as a market maker, not a follower.
Additionally, GPower Solar pursues co-development partnerships with regional developers who have ready-to-build projects but lack the capital for execution. In such cases, our team steps in to drive the project forward by providing technical expertise and connecting the developer with investors or our global financial institution partners to secure investment. This win-win approach enables project realization while strengthening regional collaboration and accelerating solar adoption.
As part of its comprehensive solar project development strategy, GPower Solar actively acquires developed solar power projects at various stages of the project lifecycle from early-stage pipelines and projects under contract or under construction (Pre-NTP to COD), to fully operational assets. We selectively pursue projects that feature proven technologies, stable contracted revenues, and long-term performance whether utility-scale, commercial, or rooftop installations.
GPower Solar can fully acquire projects outright using takeout financing supported by investors and/or global financial institution partners. This structure enables us to act quickly and efficiently, offering a clear and attractive exit strategy for developers looking to sell their projects.
Our streamlined acquisition process ensures fast evaluation and closure, providing certainty and speed to our partners. Upon acquisition, and in coordination with investors and/or global financial institutions, the purchase price is paid in milestone-based installments, which typically cover:
EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) costs.
Construction loan fees, if applicable.
The remaining balance, paid as a “Developer Fee” to the selling party.
